Fines taken on Fees is not entertained by The Students

By Nikita Gautam

It’s that time of the month again when all the students are supposed to be paying their installment fees. DWIT, being an institution, has a rule that the students should be paying their installment fees after the notice is provided and will be given a deadline of 10 days for doing so. After the deadline is crossed, they will be charged with some amount of money every day according the extension made. Students of DWIT are not satisfied with this formula of charging money. They have been paying frequent installments, which they believe to be a high amount, and the deadline of only 10 days is not something they consider to be enough. There are maximum numbers of students studying in DWIT, who come from outside the Kathmandu Valley and they have been reportedly unhappy about this system. Since, the deadline is not enough for them to manage such a huge amount of money, many of them have been led to pay due fines and are totally distressed about it. “To manage money within 10 days is a tough ask for us", said one of the students who had become the victim of late fines. Students are really concerned about this issue and are often seen protesting the fine system while conversing with their friends. It has been reported that every single day after the due date is a benchmark of increase in fee by Rs.100. Students are poignant about this system and are suggesting the increase in deadline. Some of the students have been reported to have visited the Campus chief regarding this concern.
