C Programming Discussion Class

By Sneha Parajuli

A group of students of Batch 2017 started conducting C classes on their own from March 17, 2014. The classes run every day from 5-8 p.m. They have taken this initiative in order to share and learn. These classes clearly show that the students are getting serious about the approaching Board Exams. The class is designed as a discussion class where each and everyone can participate and share their knowledge. The students who are comparatively weak in their studies say that as there is no formal teacher, they are not bound to keep quiet, feel more comfortable to speak up and put forward their confusions regarding the subject matter. One of the students of the class said, "I prefer these discussion classes to formal classes. It is easy for me to learn here." At times, when the subject matter gets so complicated that they are unable to solve them through discussion, the students have decided to invite an advisor. Also, they have decided to run classes during Saturdays or Sundays to compensate the class hours if they get obstructed by any college event on any day. That way, they feel that the classes can run smoothly. The energy to learn could be easily figured from the voices of the students in the discussion classes. "These classes are definitely helping me", said Sanjay Rimal, a member of the discussion class. Sushil Pokhrel, who usually mentors the classes, said, "I am having fun teaching my friends. The classes are being mutually beneficial." The students, being motivated by the classes, are aiming to carry out such classes in other subjects as well. Looking at the dedication of the students, the administration has provided us  with free coffee and transportation services.
